JAMES GRANT GROENDYKE

James Grant Groendyke, 46, native of Crawfordsville, died Thursday afternoon at Pine Lake Hospital at LaPorte. Born Nov. 7, 1922, he was a son of Leroy Breaks and Nora Ward Groendyke. He was married to Dean Melvin of Hillsboro. A 1940 graduate of Crawfordsville High School, Mr. Groendyke was employed at The Journal-Review and R. R. Donnelley and Sons before moving to LaPorte. Surviving besides the widow are a son, James; three daughters, Dena, Nora Lee and Lynn, and two sisters, Mrs. James Emmert of Clarks Hill and Mrs. Charles Foxworthy of Danville, Ill. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Cutler Funeral Home in LaPorte. - jlr
